M.G Gabriel is a love of tradition and modernity. It is a contemporary fashion label that combines traditional cultural elements of clothing and contemporary twists, amalgamating, to become smart, formal garments with a relaxed and comfortable edge.
Martin Gerard Gabriel Scroggie is a Scottish fashion designer who graduated from the London College of Fashion in 2006, gaining a BA Hons in Menswear and an MDes from the Glasgow School of Art in 2012. He started his love for fashion while attending Scottish Youth Theatre through his teen years and was involved with the costume department on some of their productions.
During education and between his degrees he was working with companies like Topman, Jonathan Saunders, Quiz clothing, and Daddy Funk Clothing. During his studies he also worked with companies like Matalan, Esprit, and Berwin & Berwin. He has also worked in media and film with publications at IPC Media as an assistant stylist. In 2009 he went back to his roots in costume, working on a film with Stray Dog Productions, I Against I, in the wardrobe department before moving back to Glasgow to start his Masters degree in 2010.
On completing his masters he used his graduate collection, Colourless Colour, as a platform to start the label MG Gabriel in 2013. He then went on to launch the label at the Scotland Re: Designed showcase in November 2015, where he was a selected finalist with his second collection Midnight Shadows.
